Product Development
When you're developing a new product, device, software, service, or production solution, I'm available both as an advisor and for hands-on development work — from mechanics to software.
In product development, the biggest choices are made at the start: which technology to use, what to build yourself and what to buy, and in what order things should be proven out. What's being developed can just as well be a product you sell as a device or system for your own plant or facility — the logic of the choices is the same. A wrong choice usually doesn't fail right away — it fails once things have already been built on top of it.
I can support your product development in two ways. As an advisor, I spar with you on the choices: technologies, architecture, and what to prove out first. Where needed, I also take part in the development work itself — my background is in machine vision and machine learning systems, from the mechanics through to the software, so I can help with anything from building a prototype to taking the product forward.
